Three New Olympus Gods and Their Universe Published by Outskirts Press

Author Stephen R. Champi introduces the great philosophers Socrates, Plato and Aristotle after their ordination at Mount Olympus and has them discuss our universe based on today’s knowledge.

Lawrenceville, NJ, September 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Author Stephen R. Champi announced today the release of Three New Olympus Gods and Their Universe, Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle on Mt. Olympus Explore the Nature and Evolution of the Universe Based on Our 21st Century Knowledge, published by Outskirts Press. Champi’s thoughtful dialogue between these three great minds takes into account the breakthrough scientific, religious and philosophical advances of the last two thousand years and the unique perspectives these three great philosophers are now able to develop from them.

Clad in sandals and a gold trimmed toga, Socrates finds himself in the company of Plato and Aristotle at the garden fountain of Mount Olympus after the three great men have been ordained into the Kingdom of the Gods. Although they hope that this new celestial perspective will finally make everything clear to them, they soon find that there are many open questions about the world and the universe that are still worthy of discussion.

Champi imaginatively has the three men address the scientific milestones that have shaped the history of the planet starting with the revelations by Copernicus and Galileo that the earth and planets rotated around the sun. The author brings in the religious aspect here, as well, by noting that Galileo was placed under house arrest, courtesy of the Pope, and that the Roman Catholic Church did not issue a pardon to him or an apology for his mistreatment until the year 2000.

Newton’s contributions about gravity follow, but are themselves disrupted three hundred years later by Einstein’s theories of relativity. Since then, the discoveries about the expansion of the universe through Edwin Hubble’s telescope and about the nature of the Big Bang from Stephen Hawking’s theories have added specifics to our knowledge, but -- as this great triumvirate themselves conclude -- have left cloudy our overall understanding.

An enlightening overview of man’s past and present, Champi’s innovative contemporary dialogues between Socrates, Plato and Aristotle give much contemplative food for thought, too, about our evolution through the future.
