80 Experts and Authors Join Forces with Peak Body

A new compilation eBook from the Association of Independent Authors includes eighty articles from leading experts and lessons learned from experienced authors. The articles offer guidance and advice on the various aspects of self-publishing including marketing, sales, PR, promotion, professionalism, pricing and avoiding pitfalls.

Los Angeles, CA, September 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A joint project between the Association of Independent Authors (AiA) and eighty experts and experienced authors led to the publication of SELF-PUBLISHING! Publish Your Book and Avoid the Pitfalls with Advice from Leading Experts and Experienced Authors.

"We're extremely grateful to everyone who participated in this project for their willingness to contribute their knowledge and expertise," says Melanie Walsh, Director Membership Services at the Association of Independent Authors. "The result is a unique publication with a diverse mix of professionals, subject areas, opinions and experiences."

SELF-PUBLISHING! is the first eBook in a proposed series. Experts and authors wishing to participate in future compilations can submit articles any time up to 31 March 2013. The AiA also invites suggestions from self-published authors on topics, issues or experts they would like to see featured in future publications.

"This is an exciting time to be an independent (self-published) author," says Walsh. "Authors the world over now have an opportunity to share their stories in an open global marketplace free of subjective hurdles."

The eBook compilation follows on from other initiatives launched by the Association of Independent Authors including its Best Websites for Independent Authors award and its Honoring Excellence award, which recognizes businesses that offer and deliver exceptional products and services for independent authors. The AiA has also been developing a Body of Knowledge (BoK) on everything relevant to self-publishing. It has seven categories with more than fifty subject areas and hundreds of topics on matters such as building a platform, foreign rights, social networking, professionalism, financial issues, promoting locally to name a few.
