CoolSculpting Comes to Skin Rejuvenation Clinic of Edina

Edina-Based Cosmetic Clinic First in Minnesota to Offer Both CoolSculpting Fat-Freezing Technology and ProLipo Laser-Assisted Liposuction as Body Contouring Options.

Edina, MN, September 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- CoolSculpting®, an innovative technology that freezes away unwanted fat, is now available at Skin Rejuvenation Clinic of Edina. The addition of CoolSculpting makes Skin Rejuvenation Clinic the first medical practice in the Minneapolis, MN / Twin Cities area to offer both a non-invasive fat-freezing solution and the minimally-invasive body sculpting treatment ProLipo Laser-Assisted Liposuction.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to begin offering CoolSculpting to the Minneapolis St. Paul region and beyond! We did our research and in a cosmetic market overrun by gimmicky procedures that claim to contour bodies and trim inches, we can say with confidence that CoolSculpting is the real thing,” said Dr. Elizabeth Hagberg, owner of Skin Rejuvenation Clinic.

“For years we have successfully and effectively contoured bodies using ProLipo laser liposuction and we will continue to offer ProLipo because of the dramatic results it provides our patients,” said Dr. Mark Hagberg, clinic owner. “However, we feel it is important to also offer a non-invasive option to our patient base. Up to this point, we had not felt there was a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that could provide meaningful results, but after completing our in-depth research, we discovered that CoolSculpting was definitely a technology that could produce the results our patients have come to expect, and deserve.”

“We have found CoolSculpting to be most effective on resistant localized areas such as back fat, love handles and isolated abdomen [belly or tummy] fat and the ideal candidate for this procedure is within 10 to 20 pounds of their target body weight,” Dr. Mark Hagberg said. “CoolSculpting is effective and patients are very pleased with their results.”

CoolSculpting works by gently cooling unwanted fat cells in the body, inducing a natural, controlled elimination of fat cells. Cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), CoolSculpting is based on science developed by the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The breakthrough technology is based on research demonstrating that fat cells are susceptible to cold and are selectively and permanently destroyed. Starting several weeks after the procedure, cooled fat cells begin a process called “apoptosis” and begin to shrink and disappear. The body proceeds to naturally and gradually eliminate the cooled fat cells, reducing the thickness of the fatty tissue.

Unlike many other methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting involves no needles, surgery or downtime. During the procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area thereby specifically targeting fat. Treatments last between one to two hours. Patients can have additional procedures for more pronounced effects if they desire. On average, each CoolSculpting procedure results in an undeniable reduction of fat in the treated area, and patients can start to see results as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results occurring over a period of two to four months in most patients.

“I’m ecstatic with my CoolSculpting treatment,” said Becca, a recent CoolSculpting patient. “I had the treatment done on my flanks (love handles) and relatively soon after, I noticed the fat around the treated area began to change and within several weeks my silhouette started to take on a more contoured look,” she continued. “I would strongly recommend CoolSculpting for people who, like me, want a non-invasive way to reduce stubborn body fat that doesn’t respond well to diet and exercise.”
