Madagascar by Wry Lachlan
New World Theatre is proud to present the World Premiere production of Wry Lachlan’s Madagascar as part of its third season. Madagascar is the story of a marriage quietly unraveling in the wake of a lost child. Revealing itself in intimate vignettes, it moves from love's final moments, through rages, silences, and missed opportunities for redemption, back to its tender beginnings.

Lines versus words, love against anger. Michelle and John aspire to be what the other one needs, but they’re just “two half people” trying to make a whole. Will a child bring them together, or deepen their struggle? When that child is lost, can old wounds heal to make room for new sorrows?
It is directed by Meghan Dickerson, and features the talents of Jason Liebman*, Courtney O’Brien, Alana Thompson, and Robert Zick Jr.
Jason Liebman* returns to the stage with New World Theatre after playing the title role in New World Theatre’s production of the First Quarto Hamlet last summer, currently being remounted in the Pretentious Theatre Festival at the Brick Theatre in Williamsburg.
