This first annual camp offers a unique combination of fundamental football techniques and mentoring sessions. The “Chalk Talks” provide participating NFL players and the young campers an opportunity to discuss a range of topics, i.e., overcoming adversity, remaining positive, staying drug free, rejecting negative attitudes as well as subjects specific to the young campers experiences as Katrina survivors. T.E.A.M. 84's goal is to provide encouragement and instill the idea of hard work as a key to success.

Participating NFL players include Antonio Pierce (New York Giants), Patrick Surtain and Dwayne Bowe (Kansas City Chiefs), Takeo Spikes (Philadelphia Eagles), Ryan Clark (Pittsburgh Steelers), Craig Buster Davis (San Diego Chargers), Santana Dotson (Green Bay Packers - retired), Fred Smoot and Marcus Washington (Washington Redskins) and others to be announced.
