San Francisco, CA, September 22, 2012 --( Line2, a leading provider of business communication services for professionals to SMBs, is pleased to announce that it is the first company to support carrier-grade two-way short messaging service (SMS) based on a toll free number (800, 888, 877, 866 and 855). With this release, businesses can utilize Line2 to create a more intimate and real-time relationship with their customers while utilizing the same toll free phone number their customers dial every day.

SMS text messaging has become an essential communication tool for consumers and businesses. According to Informa Telecoms and Media, SMS traffic will total 9.4 trillion messages worldwide by 2016, growing from 5.9 trillion messages in 2011.

A recent survey of Line2 customers indicated that 33% of those using their number for professional calls also used SMS to respond to their customers.
