Dynamax Releases Digital Signage Glossary


Dynamax Technologies has just launched its first digital signage glossary, meant to give its readers an understanding of software, hardware, content and installation- related terminology. The material is available for download, free of charge, from the company’s website.

Blackburn, United Kingdom, September 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- British digital signage software provider, Dynamax Technologies announces the release of its first digital signage glossary that provides definitions for the industry’s most important terms. Meant to give its readers an overall understanding of the digital signage terminology, the vocabulary includes hardware, software, content and installation- related concepts as well as a list of references at the end, for those wanting to learn more about a certain topic.

Dynamax intended to present and define the most important components of a digital signage solution such as digital signage displays, on-premise and cloud- based digital signage software, enclosures, as well as other audio- visual ones that a user might encounter when using a digital signage platform such as letterboxing, codecs, composite video, VGA or IPTV.

The glossary also contains market- specific terms such as point of sale/ point of purchase (advertising) along with content management-specific ones that apply directly to the company’s product (i.e. loop, scene, layout, ticker). The 62 word-vocabulary is aimed at enhancing its readers’ understanding of the digital signage literature in general and of Dynamax’s digital signage software and support material, in particular.

The glossary is the latest addition to the company’s free resources database consisting of digital signage white papers targeted at different sectors such as education, hospitality or corporate. The purpose of the material is to educate companies and institutions on the benefits of this technology that enables users to disseminate information in almost real-time across a network of connected screens. In the last decade, digital signage has been used as a complement or replacement for static signs and posters, its terminology still being largely unknown by those outside the industry.
