Houston Project Forwarding Training Helps Navigate Economic Tempest

Training and education are important considerations as part of the Navigating the Economic Tempest theme of Breakbulk Americas week in Houston from 8 October at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas.

Houston, TX, September 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Training and education are important considerations as part of the Navigating the Economic Tempest theme of Breakbulk Americas week in Houston from 8 October at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Hilton Americas.

Among the education and professional development offerings during Breakbulk Americas is The Certificate of Achievement in Project Cargo Management short course on 8-9 October.

The course has been designed to assist project forwarders and industry partners to better tackle the demands of increasingly complex multi-model projects in today’s economic climate.

Course presenter and general manager of the Project Professionals Group, Kevin Stephens, said one of the major reasons for management failure was lack of skills and experience to counter the often unexpected challenges arising during a project.

“Mismanaging project cargo not only adds significant additional costs but severely damages corporate reputation,” Mr Stephens said.

“This training incorporates contemporary industry experience and contexts in the teaching and learning process, and as a result has been well received by previous participants.”

The ISO accredited two-day training has attracted middle to senior management and junior personnel from large and small project forwarders, railway sector, port authorities, heavy engineering and construction industries, road transport, ship owners and stevedores, as the course is designed to bring clarity and understanding from all sides of the business equation.

Investment in the two-day training is US$1,800 per person; US$1,650 for 2 – 3 persons; US$1,500 for 4 or more persons, and includes a one-day Breakbulk exhibition hall pass.
