Walden Behavioral Care Expands Worcester Clinic

Will Showcase Expansion at Open House

Worcester, MA, September 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Walden Behavioral Care, LLC of Waltham, one of the country’s leading hospitals for treating eating disorders, announced today that it has more than quadrupled its office space at 335 Chandler St. and will show the new space during an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.

Walden President and CEO Stuart L. Koman, Ph.D., founder of Walden Behavioral Care, will speak briefly.

With its expansion into neighboring space, Walden will now lease 2,400 square feet, up from 500 square feet. Walden’s staff in Worcester, which includes licensed social workers, a primary clinician and administrative support, has increased from six to 12 employees over the past year.

“We knew that demand would be high for our services in the Worcester area, but our rapid growth here has exceeded our expectations,” said Koman.

When Walden opened its Worcester office in 2010, its only other satellite clinic was in Northampton. Since then, it has added clinics in Braintree and, most recently, South Windsor, Conn.

The Worcester clinic, which is the area’s first dedicated eating disorders facility, provides partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment for adults 18 years and older, and intensive outpatient treatment for adolescents 12 years and older who have anorexia, bulimia or binge-eating disorder.

Individuals who need more intensive treatment are referred to Walden’s Waltham location, which provides in-patient and residential care.

The open house is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For additional information or to RSVP, contact Jennifer Cedor of Walden Behavioral Care at 781-647-2915 or jcedor@waldenbehavioralcare.com.
