Raleigh, NC, October 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Remodelers Council of the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County (HBA) announced Catherine Baker, of TrendMark Inc. as the 2011 Remodeler of the Year and Louise Davis, of Interior Decisions as the 2011 Associate of the Year during its annual STAR Awards on Aug. 29 at the Renaissance Hotel at North Hills.

The STAR, or Showcasing Triangle Achievements in Remodeling (STAR) Awards is a program that showcases local remodelers for their professionalism and excellence through a range of remodeling projects.

“The council embodies a wonderful group of professionals all striving to improve the remodeling industry through education, networking, and community events such as the Remodelers Home Tour, STAR Awards, and community service,” said Baker. “I feel very honored to be recognized amongst a great group of professionals in the remodeling industry.”

The Remodeler of the Year Award is presented to the builder who goes above and beyond to represent and promote the Remodelers Council. Baker has been a past chair of various remodelers’ council committees including the STAR Awards. She has been an essential part of planning the Remodelers Home Tour, and has served as a member of the Remodelers Council executive committee for almost a decade.

Baker first became involved in several personal remodeling projects that ultimately sparked a passion for creating dream homes. This passion inspired her and her husband to form their own general contracting company, TrendMark Inc. She takes special pride in using the homeowner’s wish list to formulate a well thought out design that combines function with beauty while staying within budget. Outside of work, Baker volunteers to raise puppies for Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that provides service dogs for those with special needs.

The associate of the year award celebrates a non-builder council member for their exceptional projects, customer service, community involvement, and dedication to professionalism within the industry. As the 2011 recipient, Davis helped to recruit several new council members. She also assisted with product selections for community service projects including the George to the Rescue Knightdale house and the recent New Bern House.
