Transplex Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation Helps Philadelphia Area Injured Workers

Injured workers are much more likely to undergo successful rehabilitation and return to work if rehabilitation is started soon after the injury. A new medical facility in Philadelphia is designed to help them.

Philadelphia, PA, July 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- No one expects to experience an injury on the job. However, the most recent statistics from the National Bureau of Labor Statistics show that on-the-job injuries occur at a rate of 6.3 cases per 100 equivalent full-time workers.

Each year millions of Americans are injured at work. Work injuries range from improper lifting, falling, sitting improperly, repetitive stress or other traumas. Back injuries are the number one work-related injury in the United States.

Workers Compensation plans show that more than twice as many work injury claims are made for back injuries than any other type of injury. Studies have shown 85% of the population will experience disabling back pain at least once during their lives.

According to the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO): “Injured workers are much more likely to undergo successful rehabilitation and return to work if rehabilitation is started soon after the injury.”

This expedited therapy reduces not only the cost of rehabilitation but also lost productivity. Unfortunately, the GAO also found that less than 17% of injured workers are referred to rehabilitation within seven months. Furthermore, approximately 50% wait three years before they are referred.

Located in Northeast Philadelphia, Transplex Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation provides the Philadelphia Metro area with medical, physical therapy and rehabilitation all under one roof.

With their team approach to treating injuries, they believe rehabilitation starts the day of the injury, and the treatment is not completed until the employee is back to work with fully restored function. They specialize in helping patients who have had a difficult time recovering and who suffer from chronic pain.

If you have been in an accident, or had a work-related injury, rely on Transplex Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation of your care.
