San Fernando Valley, CA, July 07, 2007 --(PR.com
)-- The Valley Trojans added to their aerial attack on Saturday, July 7th, 2007 by signing Anthony Celestine. Celestine played for Ridgecrest (CA) Burroughs (HS) and then went to play for Colorado State for a year. He is the all time leader in receiving yards in California high school football history. Celestine is returning to football after taking a few years off.
In his first work out with the Trojans on Saturday, everyone could see that he still has the speed and hands that made him a California great. As the practice went on, Celestine was the recipient of 2 touchdown passes and numerous mid field catches during the teams 7 on 7 and full team scrimmage.
“The Valley Trojans are looking to make a big impact this year in the Labelle Community Football League (West), and with new talent like Anthony coming out to play, the pieces are really falling in place nicely” Said Head Coach and Co-Owner David Perez.
“We do this for the players to get a chance to make it to the professional ranks” Said Jeff Hernandez, Running Back coach and Co-Owner. “We do our recruiting, but it seems that we get a lot of talent coming out here, and we have never talked to them before, yet they were big time talent in high school or college. Anthony is a perfect example… It is our goal to get him, amongst many, to the next level.”
The Valley Trojans are a Minor League Football team based in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Los Angeles, CA. The team plays its home games at Panorama High School, in Panorama City, CA.
Anyone that wants to be a part of the team is invited to practices to see if they want to join. The Trojans are always looking for players that want to join the family and help to make a positive difference in the community. It is not only about football… it is about giving back to the community by helping kids to make better choices in life and providing a source of entertainment to the area.
