Brook Pridemore Releases Preston Spurlock Animated Video for "Simpsons Reference"

New York, NY, October 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- “Simpsons Reference” by Brook Pridemore is the first in a series of videos to come from the as yet unreleased fifth studio full-length ‘Brook Pridemore's Gory Details’. The flash video done by professional animator, fellow musician Preston Spurlock, is a quirky spill of fun from both artists.

- The song, originally titled “Mouthful of Bees,” was changed to “Simpsons Reference” after a devastatingly déjà-vu moment Brook experienced while watching a Simpson’s episode where his songs vision was actualized. Recalling the scene Brook said: “I hung my head in shame, for the Simpsons really have done everything, and gave the song the new title.”

- But when Spurlock offered his animation for the video, Brook was enthused by his immediate understanding of its feel: "Preston offered to do an animation for me, and I came right back at him with a dozen ideas for what it should look like. He said something like, 'How about I just do an animation around what I think the song is about?' I relented. Preston's idea, of bees coming out of my mouth, coincided perfectly with my original idea for the song."

- Brook explained: “I carry around cutting, mean-spirited things I want to say to people…When I do, on occasion, get the opportunity, my words come out of me like a swarm of angry bees. But, like in the video, the power of my words only affects me in the end... I try these days to practice restraint of pen and tongue. It's not always easy. Sometimes, I get stung."

Brook will be performing this month at the TJO Presents / Starbeat Music CMJ party at Don Pedro’s in Brooklyn on October 18th.
