Rocky Top Hospitality Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Talks Coffee and Sustainability with Local Coffee Roaster.

Raleigh, NC, October 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality (http://www.rockytophospitality.com/), has announced that on Thursday, Oct. 25, The Daily Planet Café will host an event discussing the science brewing behind the coffee bean. Larry’s Beans, a local coffee roaster in the Raleigh-Durham community, will lead the coffee talk on beans and sustainable business. Additionally, the discussion will educate attendees about the origin of coffee, and will uncover the science behind processing coffee and achieving an array of unique aromas and flavors. Participants will learn the step-by-step process that takes place while roasting coffee, from mocha to mountain blends, java and more. Located inside the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, The Daily Planet Café frequently hosts discussions of science as it relates to the hospitality industry, which are free and open to local community members.

Quotes:
“For most of us, a cup or two of coffee is a natural part of how our day progresses, but rarely do we think about the process behind the coffee bean and the scientific progression that has taken place before it lands in our cup,” said Ogan. “Supporting our local community is one of Rocky Top Hospitality’s ongoing initiatives, and we are proud to partner with a local company committed to innovation like Larry’s Beans. We are looking forward to this event, and invite coffee lovers to come and take a sip and participate in a simmering discussion led by Larry’s Beans.”
