Inkwell Productions New Release of Words Falling Like Water by Sonya Vaughn Examines the Struggles of Working Women

Scottsdale, AZ, October 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Inkwell Productions new release of Words Falling Like Water by Sonya Vaughn examines the struggles of working women. In the second presidential debate on October 16, 2012, both candidates were asked what they would do about the ongoing problem of women being paid less in the workforce.

This novel examines the life of one woman working for the auto industry who is the primary breadwinner for her family due to the unemployment of her husband. This woman struggles to perform a job that requires long hours while at the same time she must battle her husband’s demands that she continue to be the main care taker for her son. The novel details the intense pressure put on women to “do it all,” and the insanity of this expectation.

During the debate, President Obama mentioned the Lilly Ledbetter bill, which promotes equitable pay for women, and Mitt Romney noted that the corporate world needs to provide more flexibility for women. While pay and flexibility are important, Vaughn’s novel illustrates a complex problem that cannot be fixed with just more money or greater flexibility.

Sonya Vaughn’s family worked for the automotive industry for four generations. For over twelve years, she has taught writing at several community colleges. Currently, she lives in Phoenix with her husband, children and dog. Words Falling Like Water is her first published novel.

Words Falling Like Water is available through Amazon as well as the publisher Inkwell Productions website: www.inkwellproductions.com.
