New Applications for Infrared Lamps to Fuse Inks

Hawthorne, NJ, October 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Printing messages or pictures on dimensional plastic products is not a simple drying or curing application like what is typically done on flat substrates using waterbased inks.

Printing on dimensional plastic, glass, composite or metal parts is sometimes called 3D printing. To adhere text or a picture onto a hard plastic telephone case for example, requires an infrared heater (made up of infrared emitters) to fuse the ink. Fusing is the application of heat to create a strong union between two or more diverse components.

To test infrared heaters, heater designs, temperatures, line speeds and other parameters, companies can do product testing on Anderson Thermal Devices’ pilot line. By working hand in hand with engineers, together they can uncover the optimum type of IR heater needed to get the best product quality and line speeds. Another option is to obtain a rental electric infrared heater and do in-house testing.

Anderson Thermal Devices focuses on customer service and satisfaction, offering quick and efficient technological expertise in combination with efficient customer service, great pricing and quick delivery. Replacement IR lamps for all major manufacturers are available. Call or write Clara O’Boyle for more information: 973-423-2709; info@AndersonThermal.com.
