PDR to Design New Workplace for Gannett's Des Moines Register

Houston, TX, October 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- After 100 years, the Des Moines Register Media, a Gannett company, is moving to a new home more suitable for tablets and smart phones than bulky desks and typewriters.

With Planning Design Research serving as workplace architect, the Register will operate in a new environment that reflects the media industry’s current 24-hour digital trend while incorporating concepts of collaboration and alternate work styles.

The 86,000-square-foot space in Capital Square located at 400 Locust Street in downtown Des Moines will be designed for a mobile, digital workforce and offer a variety of work settings for individual and collaborative work, according to PDR Principal Stuart Harris.

The multi-media company, which employs 600 workers, is expected to move in early 2013.
