The Penguin to Air Johnny Cash Radio Special with Ticket Contest

The Penguin is airing a special Johnny Cash radio program and running a contest for tickets to a special tribute to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood, NJ.

Asbury Park, NJ, October 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Johnny Cash always holds a special place in the hearts of music fans in Asbury Park. He not only performed here, but actually lived in the Jersey Shore town for a few years, and his songs can still be heard in local venues from the guitars of singer-songwriters to punk bands. While you obviously can't see Johnny perform anymore, seeing Michael Patrick's "Ring of Fire" band is the next best thing. The Penguin, an online radio station based in Asbury Park, is proud to offer a couple pairs of tickets to Michael Patrick's next performance during a special radio broadcast celebrating the "Man in Black" hosted by Tony Lawson of WDVX.

On Tuesday, October 30 at 9pm (EST), fans of Johnny Cash can tune into The Penguin at http://www.asburymusic.com for the broadcast of "Johnny Cash The Greatest." During the broadcast, fans will get the opportunity to win tickets to a special tribute to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline taking place at the Strand Center for the Arts in Lakewood, NJ on Saturday, November 3. The tribute features Michael Patrick's "Ring of Fire" Band and special guest Terri Dixon.

During the one-hour radio special, you'll hear from many of Johnny's old friends and new admirers such as Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne, Rhett Miller, Brandi Carlisle, Amy Lee, Lucinda Williams, Shooter Jennings, and Sam Beam.
