Burlington Dentist Mary Makhlouf, DMD, Earns Fellowship in International College of Dentists

Burlington, NC, November 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Burlington’s Mary Makhlouf, DMD was recently inducted into an elite group of colleagues. On Friday, October 19th, 2012, she became a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

"I’m humbled by this honor,” said Mary Makhlouf. "This organization has an international reputation for gathering the world’s outstanding dentists and recognizing them for their commitment to their communities and professions.

"Coincidentally, this honor comes as we are organizing a community event for February 15th, 2013 when we are planning a Bone Marrow Registry Drive."

The International College of Dentists was conceived in 1920 by Dr. Louis Ottofy of the United States and Dr. Tsurukich Okumura of Japan and incorporated in 1928. Its purpose was to promote cordial relations within the profession and disseminate scientific information.

The College espouses three core values of: Integrity, Leadership and Service.
Qualified candidates such as Dr.Makhlouf are evaluated by as many as 25 Fellows during the screening process. Only 4% of American dentists are offered Fellowships.

Dr. Makhlouf’s Burlington office opened in January of 2012, after spending 14 years in Graham, serving patients in Alamance, Guilford and Orange counties and beyond.
