The Soul Catchers Deliver Photographs That Bring the Best Self Out

The Soul Catchers bring Help-Portrait to South Florida this Saturday, November 3rd. Community minded photographers give out hope by making family portraits for those in need at The Salvation Army Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, November 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- This Saturday, November 3rd, a group of photographers from South Florida will be snapping away at a very particular client. For the second year in a row The Soul Catchers are partnering with The Salvation Army and making family portraits for those in need. The Salvation Army of Fort Lauderdale, besides supporting in excess of 150 homeless individuals, also houses around 100 families each year who are going through a hard time. The Salvation Army's support is key for recovering their sure footing and while do so, The Soul Catchers' gift can be a boost of their self confidence. In the words of Major Gene Hogg: "This is a great initiative. Through a beautiful professional portrait, these families are able to say 'this is who we are, this is our family, and -look- we are just like any other family who've got portraits.'"

The event is the Fort Lauderdale chapter of Help-Portrait, a worldwide movement started four years ago by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart and which focuses on giving the gift of portraits to those in need.

"For us, as photographers, this event gives us the opportunity to touch the lives of these families and individuals with our craft. If through it, we can manage to bring their best self out and make a difference in the way they see themselves, we have achieved our goal!" said Huba Rostonics, Weston, FL -based commercial photographer and founding member of The Soul Catchers. "I am looking forward to the event. This year we are honored to have some strong participants besides our core group, Richard Ramos and Antonio Martez and his White Space Studios will be joining us. We also count now with the sponsorship of Dale Laboratories, who will be providing us with the prints, and with all the buzz generated last year, we are expecting three times as much traffic this year. This event is going to be Big!"

Dale Farkas, President and CEO of Dale Laboratories, when asked about the reasons that motivated him to take on the printing of the portraits, commented: "At Dale Laboratories, we are pleased to be a part of an event like this that places photography at the heart of the community. It is also a great way to reaffirm our support to the South Florida photographers’ community."

The Help Portrait organization has applied for 501c3 status and any donations to the cause are considered as a charitable donation and deductible from Federal Income Tax.
