Chocolate Festival, Festival of Trees and Dover Symphony Orchestra Featured Thanksgiving Weekend at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino

Dover, DE, November 03, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Seventh Annual Chocolate Festival will be held in the Rollins Center on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Delaware Hospice Festival of Trees will be displayed concurrently with the Chocolate Festival, and the Dover Symphony Orchestra will perform on Sunday, Nov. 25.

The Chocolate Festival will feature varieties of chocolate and candy exhibitors, an ice carving contest, one-of-a-kind candy and gingerbread village created by Dover Downs Hotel & Casino chefs, an arts and crafts marketplace with plentiful holiday gift selections and food stuffs for purchasing.

Live entertainment will be presented by the renowned Capital Ringers, performing favorite holiday melodies on English Handbells. Instrumentals and choral performances will be featured, in addition to dance presentations by Delaware Ballet Company. “Santa” will appear for photos with the kids.

Delaware Hospice will present its annual Kent County Festival of Trees in conjunction with the Chocolate Festival, beginning on Monday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Trees will be on display throughout the hotel lobby and Rollins Center. On Tuesday, Nov. 20, a “Night of Lights” cocktail reception will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at a cost of $30 per person or $50 per couple, and featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres with cash bar and entertainment. Festival trees will be on display from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Dover Symphony Orchestra will perform “Ringing in the Holiday Season” on Sunday, Nov. 25 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Rollins Center. Along with seasonal music, the winner of Youth Concerto Competition, Chelsea Lee, will play one movement of a violin concerto. General admission tickets are $20 each for adults and $15 for seniors (62 and older), college students, and active duty or retired military members. Minors younger than 16 will be admitted free with a paying adult.
