With a goal-shattering 173% increase in year-over-year giving in the greater Cincinnati area, Belcan Corporation was honored as a “WOW Campaign” during the 2012 United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s Campaign Finale celebration held on Friday at the Duke Convention Center.

Cincinnati, OH, November 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- With a goal-shattering 173% increase in year-over-year giving in the greater Cincinnati area, Belcan Corporation was honored as a “WOW Campaign” during the 2012 United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s Campaign Finale celebration held on Friday at the Duke Convention Center. The WOW Campaign designation honors companies whose United Way campaigns set the standard for growth and excellence.

Belcan’s Community Relations team, the company’s philanthropic and volunteer organization, selected United Way as a corporate partner in 2012. “The Bold Goals and vision set by United Way strongly aligned with Belcan’s core belief of sharing our success and giving back in order to positively impact the communities where we are privileged to do business,” commented Candace McCaw, owner and chairman of the board of Belcan Corporation. “Choosing United Way as our corporate partner has encouraged our 65 teams across the nation to become even more involved in shaping their communities for the future.”

Area individuals and businesses joined forces, as the United Way of Greater Cincinnati successfully exceeded its 2012 campaign goal, raising an impressive $61.05 million. "It's clear this community cares and continues to recognize the collective impact we can make to align and achieve Bold Goals for our Greater Cincinnati Area," said campaign chair David Joyce, president and CEO, GE Aviation. In a surprise gesture, after revealing the success of the 2012 pledge campaign, he removed his “Live United” ball cap to reveal a “Live United” commitment emblazoned across his head. Many other attendees joined in the fun and lined up to receive temporary “Live United” tattoos before and after the event.

“Back in August, David Joyce came to Belcan and challenged us to communicate the Bold Goals of the United Way with our employees. Once we shared the vision and the impact United Way is having on our communities, the entire Belcan family joined together in support of United Way,” indicated Amanda McCaw, leader of Belcan’s Community Relations efforts. In addition to running a United Way Pacesetter Campaign this year, Belcan also contributed to the Bold Goals challenge match fund and set up a matching fund for all Belcan new and increased giving. As a result of the combined efforts of all its employees, Belcan’s campaign also hit the Live United trifecta nationally -- engaging more employees, motivating more leadership givers, and completing more hands-on community projects than ever before. Rob Reifsnyder, President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, enthused, “Belcan and its employees provided fantastic support to this year’s United Way campaign, generating huge results for our community. Our thanks to everyone at Belcan who helped make the 2012 campaign a success and provide needed support for Bold Goals in education, income and health,”
