Each teddy bear takes approximately ten weeks from original conception to the pre-production phase. Charlotte herself decides on the theme of each new collection keeping in mind the latest fashion and trends. A bear artist produces a prototype that is then presented to Isabelle Lee at the Charlie Bear Bearhouse and she proceeds with creating a sample. It might take several samples before the prototype bear passes inspection. After inspection, the teddy bear sample is then photographed and production proceeds.
All Isabelle mohair bears have glass eyes and plush Charlie Bears have plastic eyes. Kohiar (a faux mohair) is used in most plush bears and is always of high quality.
