Pamella Carter Signs Exclusive Deal with Sound Byte Music Management

San Francisco, CA, July 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Pamella – eclectic Brazilian-born singer-songwriter-guitarist - has been signed to an exclusive deal with Sound Byte Music Management by producer/entrepreneur Joe Bretz and his business partners Richard Verdoni and David Blackford.

Channeling elements of rock, jazz, blues, and the folk and pop music of Brazil into a unique sound, Pamella came to Bretz’s attention with her powerful live performance as lead vocalist with the Bay Area rock band Speed Queen. Bretz watched her captivate an audience during a Speed Queen show at a San Francisco nightclub, and was sold on her.

“From the moment she stepped into the spotlight, she drew the crowd to her,” Bretz recalls. “People were standing in back, paying no attention. She said ‘hi,’ and everyone in the club was instantly riveted.

“She‘s not a pre-made thing. She’s real, raw talent. And when I got to know her, I was charmed. She’s well-educated, culturally aware, musically astute, and has the magnetism of a true rock star.”

Currently, Pamella is working on her debut American album, produced by Joel Jaffe at his world-renowned recording facility, Studio D in Sausalito, CA. According to Jaffe, “She’s got an amazing voice, and we want to incorporate all the different types of music that she’s about – pop, rock, jazz, Brazilian…”

The album is slated to include a number of Pamella’s songs, such as “Bad Days,” “First Sip,” “Life,” and “Get Along With This” -- material inspired by her relationships, her travels, and the adventures that she’s had along the way.

Pamella is the second act to be signed to Sound Byte Music Management, which also represents the rising Bay Area rock band Mouth to Mouth. The company was co-founded by Bretz, Verdoni and Blackford.

Bretz, with long time colleague Verdoni, previously developed and produced the television special “Gumby’s 50th Birthday Gala,” as well as the syndicated “California Music Awards 25th Anniversary” video extravaganza with performances and interviews by recording artists such as Sammy Hagar, Smash Mouth, Papa Roach, Mix Master Mike, Bob Weir, The KGB, Joe Satriani, No Doubt, Alien Ant Farm, Train, and Sly & the Family Stone.

Among Bretz’s other production credits are “Smash Mouth - Live from the Fillmore” -- a concert film featuring the platinum-selling rock band at San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore auditorium -- for the Music Choice cable-TV channel; an installment of HBO’s live-music series “Reverb”; and the “Now and Zen” concert film including performances by Alanis Morissette, Macy Grey, Melissa Etheridge and Shelby Lynne. Bretz and Blackford are currently co-producing the feature film “The Chosen One,” starring Rob Schneider.
