About Jane Penelope Johnson

Jane Penelope Johnson is a writer, a poet and a song lyricist. She is the author of numerous poetry books including “A Penny for Your Thoughts.” Her patriot and gospel song lyrics include “A Song for Peace” which was published in the national music book “Land That I Love.” Ms. Johnson is the recipient of many awards and honors including Most Admired Woman of the Decade, Woman of the Year from the American Biographical Institute and International Woman of the Year, Cambridge, England. Her accomplishments are numerous and she is very proud to have been the recipient of the Emily Dickinson Award for her poem “The Wedding.” Ms. Johnson is a member of the International Order of Merit, the World Literacy Academy and the International Poetry Hall of Fame. She is Deputy Governor of the American Biographical Institute and Advisor to the International Society of Poetry for Life. In her free time, Ms. Johnson enjoys dancing, swimming, playing the piano and is a singer with the Sweet Adelines.
