Chapman Freeborn Expands Its Coverage in South America by Establishing Representation in Buenos Aires

Chapman Freeborn Airchartering is pleased to announce the further expansion of its operations in South America with the establishment of commercial representation in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, November 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The global aircraft charter specialist’s new location is situated in the offices of our partner Air World Travel (AWT) - the largest passenger representation airline network in Latin America, focused on customer relations and the development of the commercial airline sector.

Chapman Freeborn’s move into the Argentinian market follows the successful establishment of an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2008 - making it the first international charter company to establish an operation in South America.

The new Buenos Aires branch will be headed by business development director Nicolas Caleri, who will oversee cargo charter operations and the development of the company’s on board courier (OBC) services for time-sensitive shipments.

Nicolas, or “Nico” as he is widely known to suppliers and clients, has nearly a decade of experience in the air cargo industry and returns to his native Argentina after a successful period working for Chapman Freeborn in Spain.

Working in close cooperation with the company’s team in Brazil & the US hub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nico will use his local market expertise to target further growth in Argentina and the Southern Cone countries of Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

He commented:

“We have been working with charter clients in Argentina for a number of years and in response to increased demand the time was right for us underline our commitment to this growing market.

“Developing new markets and a focus on building close personal relationships with local clients and airline suppliers is something Chapman Freeborn has done successfully for the last 40 years.”

No time wasted in the international arena

Chapman Freeborn’s newly-launched team in Argentina is already managing its first cargo charter operations - ranging from shipments of high-tech equipment to large-scale livestock
movements.

One charter saw sensitive printing calibration equipment flown from Germany to Argentina on behalf of a Buenos Aires-based client. The 75 ton consignment originated from multiple different locations in Germany and, once carefully consolidated, was flown to Buenos Aires on a chartered B747 freighter.

The same freighter aircraft was then used for a high-profile charter to safely transport 100 polo ponies from Buenos Aires to Nigeria for a sporting event.

The ponies were eased into the aircraft and placed in secure stalls for the flight - and accompanied by grooms and vets to further ensure their safety and well-being.

The welfare of animals is of paramount importance during flight operations of this kind and Chapman Freeborn has coordinated similar movements across the globe - ranging from large-scale cattle movements in Central Asia to the transportation of 73 showjumping horses to the Middle East.
