)-- 4ipnet, the leading provider of networking total solutions for wireless and wired Connectivity, Management, Security, Mobility and Services, improved the existing Wi-Fi solution at the Catholic University of Maule, Campus Curicó, Chile using 4ipnet access points and WLAN controllers.
In order to improve the existing campus-wide Wi-Fi access, the Catholic University of Maule decided to deploy 4ipnet access points along with a WLAN controller in two campus buildings. Students and faculty will have easier Internet access throughout the libraries, reading rooms, the theater, and indoor/outdoor common area.
The deployment projects looks to solve issues including:
1) Provide comprehensive coverage (replacing the original omni-directional antennas) through out the desired premises.
2) Supports up to 1100 concurrent users during peak time.
3) Access control—grant access only to students and campus faculty
4) A central monitoring/management system from the campus of Curicó and should be able to integrate with future network system if desired.
After thorough assessment, 4ipent have suggested 3 products including: EAP700 (5pcs), EAP200 (31pcs), and OWL500 (4pcs), and WHG707 WLAN controller (1 pc), for Catholic University of Maule. 4ipnet WHG707 WLAN controller can easily authenticate internet access and manages all access points.
