GDCA Announces Extended Support for National Instruments VXIpc-872B Embedded Controller for VXI

GDCA and National Instruments partner to ensure availability of the VXIpc-872B Embedded Controller.

Livermore, CA, December 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- GDCA, Inc., the pioneer in legacy product management and ensuring the availability of long-lasting critical technology, announced its partnership with National Instrument to ensure extended manufacture and support for their VXIpc-872B embedded controller.

The VXIpc-872B is a Pentium III embedded controller in a rugged package, creating a solid PC-based foundation for controlling VXI systems. It provides direct control of VXI registers, memory, interrupts, and triggers while maintaining compatibility with common software tools available for general purpose desktop PCs. It has been successfully deployed in VXI-based test and measurement systems since 2002.

“While National Instruments has a strong track record of providing hardware products with long-term market availability, we understand that some of our customers require product availability and support beyond what we would normally provide,” said Robert Canik, VP of Research & Development at National Instruments. “GDCA successfully demonstrated its ability to provide extended support for our VXIpc-872 customers, and we decided to also entrust them with providing these services for the NI VXIpc-872B.”

For more than 25 years, GDCA has prevented challenges faced when extended support, out-of-warranty repair, and authentication for critical system components is no longer available. This announcement ensures the ongoing availability of customer support, manufacture and repair on the VXIpc-872B.

“We know what it means to make the investment in development and marketing of complex embedded applications. No one wants to be told their systems are ‘obsolete,’” comments Ethan Plotkin, CEO at GDCA. “NI’s decision to work with GDCA effectively stops the clock on obsolescence for the VXIpc-872B and ensures their customers have a reliable source for the boards they need.”
