Chase Wilson Education Announces Winner of “Change-Maker of the Year” Award

Ashley Craig will receive a $1,000 scholarship, sponsored by Investors Bank.

Park Ridge, NJ, December 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Chase Wilson Education is pleased to announce the winner of its “Change-Maker of the Year” Award – Ashley Craig from Sussex, NJ. The Change-Makers program, launched in 2011, recognizes and rewards young leaders whose selfless actions inspire truly positive change in the world around them. As “The Change-Maker of the Year,” Craig will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Investors Bank at a special event in early 2013.

Chase Wilson Education considers Change-Makers the best and brightest of today’s youth who not only believe the world can be a better place, but are willing to be the one to lead the way to it — no matter if anyone else decides to follow. Initiated in the fall of 2011, one student was highlighted for their “Empathetic Excellence” each quarter, all carefully selected from dozens of submissions. The two finalists’ stories that received the most votes on Facebook were evaluated by Chase Wilson Education’s Advisory Board, who then selected Ashley Craig as “The Change-Maker of the Year.”

“We’re very excited to announce Ashley as our very first Change Maker of the Year,” said Dan Fabrizio, Chase Wilson Education’s Creative Director. “Ashley’s story was particularly touching since she founded an organization to prevent bullying, having been the victim of bullying herself. The fact that she took personal adversity and used it to create positive change exemplifies the type of character that this program is all about. She is one of the Anti-Bullying Movement’s most dynamic and promising leaders and a true role model for other students.”

After a long personal history with bullying, Ashley Craig founded Students Against Being Bullied (S.A.B.B.), which creates and implements student-led bullying prevention solutions for schools. Ashley has been asked to speak at various bullying prevention conferences and events across the country and has been recognized as one of the anti-bullying movement’s most promising young leaders.

“The Change-Maker of the Year” award winner will be honored with a $1,000 scholarship generously sponsored by Investors Bank. “Investors Bank congratulates Ashley Craig on this incredible achievement. We’re delighted to provide her with this scholarship and look forward to her continued success in her bullying prevention efforts,” said Investors Bank Senior Vice President, MaryRose Genovese.
