Cape Town, South Africa, December 20, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Auric Consulting has officially launched its initiative 'My Sky My Country' on Facebook. The initiative has been put in place to enable both social media connectivity as well as to try and raise funds to help children with a terminal illness.
Managing partner of Auric Consulting PTY LTD, Mr. Bruce Fennessy, explains, "My Sky My Country is an initiative which we hope will bring people closer together through the use of the social media platform Facebook. Our idea is that people all over the world will be able to see what other countries in the world look like through the eyes of those living there, even if they are unable to travel, it will give them a small glimpse."
When quizzed on exactly how it works, Mr. Fennessy had this to say. "It's easy to take part and contribute to this great cause. Take a picture of the sky around you and send it to us on email@example.com telling us your name and location of the photo. Try to keep it around 600kb in size. We will then place it in this album for everyone to see. When you see your picture, 'LIKE' it so it can go viral and bring the world a little closer together. Once we have received enough pictures we will start building a collage of the earth using the photos received. This will then be auctioned off to the highest bidder to raise money to give a child with a terminal illness a once in a life time opportunity, through the Reach for a Dream foundation in RSA."
The initiative is getting a good response rate with over 45000 people having visited the page and a great deal contributing.
"We would love more people to get involved. What we have seen so far is brilliant however if we are to make the dreams of at least one child a reality then we need more pictures. What would be great is if we had a celebrity involved, be they local or international. This way it will give our initiative the thumbprint it requires to really achieve great things."
