Resorts West Vacation Package Celebrates World Cup and Grand Prix Competition

Ski vacation package offers World Cup fans everything they need to cheer on U.S. athletes.

Park City, UT, December 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As World Cup competition returns to Park City, Resorts West is offering a vacation package just for fans. Guests who visit Park City during a World Cup or U.S. Grand Prix event during the 2012-2013 season will receive an “Ultimate Fan Kit,” complete with everything needed to cheer on U.S. athletes including USSA-logoed gear, hand warmers, noise makers and a custom Resorts West cow bell.

“We wanted to share the enthusiasm we have for national and global competition in Park City by creating an environment that makes it really fun to cheer on the athletes,” said Resorts West General Manager Ben Wallace. “It’s such a unique experience to see the world’s best winter sports athletes in action, and we wanted to celebrate that.”

The FIS Freestyle Ski event starts on Jan. 30 with a live outdoor performance on Lower Main Street led by Long Beach-based quartet Cold War Kids. Free and open to the public, the 7 p.m. concert is immediately followed by a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Resorts West offers complimentary shuttle service for guests to Main Street.

Competition begins on Jan. 31 with the Individual Mogul finals, followed by Aerials on Feb. 1 and Dual Moguls on Feb. 2. All events are free and open to the public. Guests can elevate their experience at individual events by purchasing VIP Freestyle Feast tickets, available through Deer Valley Resort. The exclusive on-mountain experience includes a gourmet buffet, beverages, a commemorative gift and a chance to mingle with professional athletes.

Coinciding with the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup is the U.S. Half Pipe Grand Prix at Park City Mountain Resort. Spectators can watch Olympians Scotty Lago and Gretchen Bleiler in ski and snowboard half pipe competition during the day, then catch freestyle events at Deer Valley at night. Half pipe finals take place on Feb. 1 and Feb 2. The U.S. Grand Prix will return to Park City from Feb. 25 to Mar. 2 for Skicross and Snowboardcross events, featuring Olympians Nate Holland and Lindsey Jacobellis.
