QNAP Security Releases VioStor Firmware v4.0.0 Introducing New Management Interface and Cross-Browser Support

Taipei, Taiwan, December 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- QNAP® Security, a professional Linux-based stand-alone NVR provider, today announced new VioStor NVR firmware v4.0.0. It introduces new design of user interface and offers cross-browser enhancement, greatly improving the ease of use for surveillance management and operation.

To provide better user experience, QNAP VioStor NVR revamps the user interface design for optimal work flow. The IP camera management list is improved with user-oriented concept enabling more intuitive operations. With the well presented list of IP cameras, users can easily click a specific camera to obtain the live view, and quickly identify which camera supports PTZ function. In addition, users can flexibly drag and drop the control panel to desired position on the management user inference. The VioStor NVR supports up to 64-channel display mode for live monitoring and 16-channel display mode for playback, provides practical real-time system alert and E-map function, and offers more management convenience when users experience the powerful surveillance system.

In addition to Internet Explorer, PC users can now utilize VioStor NVR service by installing add-on through other browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or install the standalone application QNAP Surveillance Client for Windows. "Coupled with QNAP Surveillance Client for Mac, the VioStor NVR presents itself as a flexible surveillance solution catering users of different operating systems," added Yu.

In addition, the VioStor firmware v4.0.0 supports more new IP camera brands and additional 130 compatible IP camera models. The expanded IP camera compatibility list offers users more flexibility in selecting suitable IP cameras when deploying an IP surveillance system.
