Southern Cross Building Products Puts Wind Back in Local Sea Scouts' Sails

Boynton Beach, FL, July 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Southern Cross Building Products donated a 24' Catalina sailboat to a local sea scout ship.

"We are always looking for ways to strengthen our ties to the local community and felt that the young adults of Sea Scout Ship (SS247) give back a positive message to our community." said Rodrigo Vera, president of Southern Cross Building Products, LLC.

The boat, a 24' Catalina sail boat is one of the most popular sail boats made in the Unites States. The Catalina can be used as a daytripper but also fits several people in its cabin for longer off-shore and long-distance voyages.

Erica Craddock, skipper of troop SSS 247, says "the other boats we have right now are much smaller (10 ft, 15 ft) so this will be the first one we can really do a long sail in."

Sea Scouting is organized to promote better citizenship and to improve members' boating skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.

Southern Cross Building Products manufactures and distributes a full range of sustainable flooring and wall building products made of glass, wood, stone and clay.
