AVOLUTION Releases ABACUS® 4.1

London, United Kingdom, December 26, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Responding to maturing market requirements, ABACUS 4.1 introduces a range of new features to help CIO’s increase value delivery across key IT initiatives, including Enterprise Architecture (EA); IT Strategic Planning; IT Portfolio Management (ITPM); IT Service Management (ITSM); Business Process Management (BPM); Business Intelligence (BI); and Governance, Risk Management & Compliance (GRC).

Building a complete enterprise model in ABACUS across people, processes, and technology is quick and simple, utilising sophisticated import capabilities from MS Office applications and other data sources. ABACUS 4.1 improves upon its advanced Catalogues Management feature for ‘round-tripping’ (importing / exporting) MS Excel spreadsheets and MS SharePoint lists, as well as enhanced data interchange options with MS Access, to automate and speed the data collection process.

Through use of quantitative metrics, such as total cost of ownership, performance, availability and agility, techniques based on Discrete Event and Monte Carlo simulations can be employed, enabling multiple solution alternatives (architectures) to be compared to determine optimal investment paths with predictive and quantitative certainty. These ‘as is’ architectures and ‘evolution’ alternatives can be presented through freely composed collections of views and dashboards associated with pre-defined user groups, allowing stakeholder interests and concerns to be specifically targeted.

ABACUS 4.1 incorporates further enhancements that include the setting of read-only / non-updateable architectures; auto-updating of enterprise projects; project-wide regional settings; updated and additional framework libraries (eg. TOGAF 9.1, ArchiMate 2.0); and extended HTML publishing capabilities.

ABACUS 4.1 is available now. More information, and downloadable 30-day trial software, is available at www.avolution.com.au.

About Avolution
Avolution provides the ABACUS® solution which is unique to the enterprise modelling space in that it can create multiple solution alternatives (architectures) and then run various simulations (Discrete Event, Monte Carlo etc) against each alternative for metrics such as Performance, Cost and Availability. Being built on a completely agile, open and flexible XML-based hierarchical repository, ABACUS offers support for more frameworks out-of-the-box than any other tool on the market, and users can create their own bespoke or hybrid repository meta-model through simple right-clicks and drag-and-drops in a matter of minutes.
