)-- Infor today announced that Hitachi Automotive Products, a global manufacturer of electronic, mechananical, and electro-mechanical powertrain components and a division of Hitachi, Ltd., one of the world’s leading electronics companies, has implemented Infor’s flagship supplier relationship management (SRM) solution for the automotive industry. Deployed in its Kentucky facility, Infor SRM SupplyWEB enables Hitachi Automotive to gain a comprehensive view of the value chain for improved communication with suppliers and enhanced customer support.
A longtime Infor ERP and Release Accounting customer, Hitachi Automotive chose SupplyWEB for its inherent, robust electronic data interchange (EDI) functionality which can improve supplier collaboration, customer response time, data accuracy, and demand and order management.
“Infor is helping us resolve our business challenges by delivering solutions with rich functionality, so they were a natural selection when it came time for us to implement an SRM solution,” said Robin Riley, IT Business Systems Senior Manager, Hitachi Automotive Products. “SupplyWEB provides seamless communication with our suppliers, which enables us to rationalize fulfillment discrepancies without impacting the customer.”
Hitachi Automotive can now correspond electronically with all of its vendors, many of whom did not have EDI-enabled systems. The company is extending SupplyWEB’s EDI capability to those suppliers, who previously were unable to communicate order availability and fulfillment information. SupplyWEB has enabled Hitachi Automotive to expedite the ordering process, leading to improved accuracy and employee productivity.
“SupplyWEB allows organizations to gain visibility into the performance of their entire supply chain, enabling them to collaborate and communicate demand, shipments, and payment data,” said Kevin Piotrowski, Infor’s director of industry and product marketing. “These types of efficiencies improve relationships between suppliers and their customers by providing a more streamlined supply chain to ensure incoming and outgoing goods meet expected quality levels and are delivered on time.”
SupplyWEB addresses the business-specific needs and processes of automotive suppliers and manufacturing companies. It is an advanced, web-enabled supplier relationship management, collaboration and execution solution designed to reduce supply chain costs, decrease inventory levels and increase operational efficiencies.
