Tween Girl Stays in the Game: My Identity Christ-is Published by Outskirts Press

Author S. L. Holliday helps her adolescent readers discover “who” they are in Christ Jesus and encourages them to learn the perseverance necessary to always keep pressing forward into victory.

Hyattsville, MD, January 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Juvenile fiction author S. L. Holliday announced today the release of My Identity Christ-is, Stay in the Game, published by Outskirts Press. Holliday’s exciting fiction adventure teaches adolescent readers the word of God through an entertaining narrative that helps them come of age with a solid foundation of who they are in themselves and in the eyes of God.

Thirteen year old Victoria decides she will run for class president only to find out her arch rival and nemesis, Joy, is to be her chief opponent. The two disagree on everything, and Joy begins to use every sneaky trick in the book as she goes to any length to win the election.

Despite all of Victoria’s strength of will and her determination, the constant battling takes a toll on her. First she tries to ignore Joy’s underhanded tactics. Then she thinks for a moment about just getting even. When Joy eventually uses one trick that could cost Victoria the election, Victoria even considers giving up.

Ultimately Victoria discovers she has one more option besides burying her head in the sand, seeking revenge, or just plain quitting. She can lean on God.

Holliday’s dramatic tale can help youngsters through the difficult transitional years of their tweens by offering them a way to “stay in the game,” despite setbacks, barriers and even others’ malicious intentions. My Identity Christ-is is the first in a planned series of books by Holliday which will offer important life lessons based on a healthy Christian perspective.

About the author:
S. L. Holliday, who has a background in fine art and education, has always loved art and has been drawing since she was a child. Ms. Holliday received Jesus into her heart at a young age, but it wasn’t until college, where she got into writing, that she decided to fully dedicate her talents to Him. One day while reading the Bible, she came across the verse, Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”

In addition to loving art, Ms. Holliday also loves children and even served as a school teacher. After seeking the Lord on which direction to take, she had it revealed to her by Him how to combine her love of art and children by using art (through whatever medium) to teach children the Word of God in a way they can understand. That has been her goal ever since.
