Friendship Agape Church to Ordain James Chiang

Friendship Agape Church will be formally ordaining James Chiang on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Founded in 1989, Friendship Agape Church (FAC) is a congregation of the Christian Reformed Church denomination. Based in San Jose, California, FAC serves the local community with English and Mandarin Chinese programs for individuals and families.

San Jose, CA, January 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Friendship Agape Church will be formally ordaining James Chiang on Sunday, January 13, 2013.

Ordination Celebration
Friendship Agape Church welcomes their neighbors and friends to witness Pastor Chiang’s ordination on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Starting at 2:30pm, the program includes special messages from distinguished speakers and a musical presentation. Since childcare will not be available, families will be invited to attend the program together. A reception follows in the fellowship hall. The church is located at 5150 Camden Avenue in San Jose. Freeways 85, 880, 17 and 87 are nearby.

From Engineer to Pastor
James Chiang came from Taiwan. He received two Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) degrees from UC Berkeley (B.S. and M.S.) and an MBA from University of Santa Clara. James worked for more than 20 years in several high tech companies in the Silicon Valley and Bank of America in San Francisco.

In 1990, after studying the Bible, James was convicted that he was a sinner according to the revealed truth by the Holy Spirit; subsequently he submitted to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. God has called James further to equip himself for serving Him. He then endeavored and earned his Master of Divinity from Western Seminary. Upon graduation in July 2004, James was called by “For All Saints Team Ministries” (FASTM) , and was sent to minister at San Ramon Valley Gospel Church. In 2010 and 2011 James has served in various FASTM Discipleship Training Conferences and churches in Europe, Asia and United States. In January 2012, James accepted the calling and began serving as pastor for Friendship Agape Church. In October 2012, James was recognized as "Commissioned Pastor" by the Classis Central California of the CRCNA denomination.

James is married to Winnis. Their son Scott is married and the father of two children. James, Winnis and Scott are all graduates of Western Seminary.

Friendship Agape is one of the few churches in the San Jose area to offer a bilingual Chinese-English program each Sunday morning. Not only are the messages in both languages, worship songs are even shown on-screen using Chinese, Pinyin and English—a first for Silicon Valley. Pinyin is a phonetic representation of Chinese that allows non-Chinese speakers to sing and follow along in Mandarin.
