Bios:

Boni Joi was born in North Miami Beach, Florida, raised in New Jersey, and recently discovered her lost lineage in Salem, Massachusetts. She has a MFA from Columbia University and has read her poetry at numerous venues in New Jersey, New York, and elsewhere. She lives with her husband, musical chef Tobi Joi, in Brooklyn.

Blurbs for Boni Joi’s Before During or After Rainstorms:

"Boni Joi’s work combines 21st century charm with ancient wisdom. Her work often springs from an idea that she spins out with wit and surprise. She’s not afraid to shock and more importantly she’s not afraid to be quiet." -Joanna Fuhrman

"'As long as the sun shines I sparkle,' says Boni Joi, and her first collection does just that. The beer bottles that clank in the moonlight sparkle; the forest of lit windows sparkles; Captain Eddie’s houseboat, the pasta bugs and the archaic violence of a Greek play sparkle as well. It is the sparkle of ordinary things rendered revelatory by Boni’s loving, mindful attention. As we see what she sees, extraordinary time kicks in, and we meet her on 'a fall day at summer’s end like other summers ending,' completely lost in her moment, loving our new perdition." -Sharon Mesmer

"These tabulations of the daily shifts in a city and its skies will turn you on your head as soon as you realize that what was 'pocket-sized, wide apart and cupcake-shaped' are the treads on the poet’s tires, 'sharp … as hard candy,' clear-eyed and fast." -Eleni Sikelianos

Boni’s book retails for $15 and is available through Small Press Distribution:

Talkless, won a Jackie 60 New Artist Award, and was included in two CMJ music festivals. Her poetry has been published in Arbella, Long Shot, Big Hammer, Words, This Broken Shore, Whim Wit and the anthology Will Work for Peace edited by Brett Axel. Her book Prolapse is a 2011 publication from Off the Park Press (www.ronnalebo.com).

Blurbs for Ronna Lebo’s Prolapse:

"A tragic tale told in beautiful, simple, stark concise and elegant prose. Ms. Lebo's words never get in the way, never avoid what must be said. Prolapse is stunning, original and bold." -John S. Hall, King Missile writer & lead vocalist, and author of Jesus Was Way Cool and Daily Negations

"Prolapse takes us into the icy heart of America, where banality and madness reign hand in hand behind closed doors. Ronna Lebo writes on the edge of the knife. her taut sentences carve out and sing a masterful post-modern American ballad of addiction, indifference and deceit not to be missed." -Brenda Coultas, author of The Marvelous Bones of Time and A Handmade Museum

Ronna’s book retails for $15 and is available through Small Press Distribution:
