9News Interview with Pawfriendly Landscapes

Kurt Koebrich of Denver 9 News interviews Elizabeth Bublitz, owner/creator of Colorado's only pet friendly landscape company, Pawfriendly Landscapes, Inc.

Golden, CO, June 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Kurt Koebrich of Denver's channel 9 news, interviews Elizabeth Bublitz regarding designing a pet friendly yard. She addresses their "Backyard Garden" and discusses changes to make it more pet friendly.

In channel 9's "Backyard Garden" certain plants are used that are inappropriate for dogs, such as Iris which are toxic to pets as well as ornamental grasses, which dogs tend to chew. Since many clients install a water feature for their dog(s), Ms. Bublitz points out that the depth of their water feature is too shallow for an average dog to enjoy. She also discusses their walking paths, which are flagstone pieces, as an example for a dog's natural walkway to the pond. It is emphasized that the dog's habits are respected and incorporated into the landscape.

Since many dogs tend to eliminate in the same area, she offers a solution for plants that are being constantly killed by urine. She eliminates the plant and installs a large container - she calls this "the fire hydrant" solution. Again, the dog's habit is being respected and plants are no longer dying.
