A New Era for Football - Virtual or Reality?

Bangkok, Thailand, January 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A revolutionary virtual football management method has become a reality with the entry of a professional football Team into SE Asia's Thailand Football League which will be managed Live by an Online Community - fans on the Internet will decide what happens live on the pitch.

Futera Seeker FC has become the world's first ever professional Football Team whose games will be managed Live by fans. Each week football fans from around the world can log on to the Club's website www.futerafc.com where games will be streamed Live, and have their say as "Virtual Managers" of Futera Seeker FC by voting on the Team's formation, playing style, substitutes and other tactics as the match plays out live. Pundits will provide live commentary and chat with the fans through Futera's "virtual communications platform." In the run-up to every game, fans can go online and vote on pre-match decisions, such as the starting XI, enter competitions and follow the Club's Facebook.

Futera, a Sports Publisher and Online Game Developer, has a rich history in football having worked with many UK Premier League and Championship Clubs over 20 years including Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and more.

Futera's Online Football Management game "FWFOnline.com" is played by gamers and football card fans around the world competing in Live prize Tournaments and running their own Mini Leagues.

Gwyneth Glascodine, CEO of Futera explained, "Futera took traditional football cards interactive with its 'FWF ONLINE' game where you use your skills to manage a virtual Football Team… with ‘Futera Seeker FC’ you use your skills to manage a real Football Team. Anyone, any age, anywhere in the world can become a Virtual Manager of Futera Seeker FC - it’s an exciting live football experience.”

“Taking the project to the professional arena and into Thailand has been an enjoyable development stage for Futera, with Futera FC projects planned for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China."

Futera's Creative Director, an avid football supporter himself, added, "When a group of football supporters get together, we think we know better than the Manager - and that's how the concept was created! However, we’re going into this with 3 years experience of working on live trials with lower League sides in England.”

The Thai Football League is becoming increasingly popular, recently attracting big name Players and Managers such as Sven Goran Eriksson and Robbie Fowler.

What do the players themselves make of it? Apisit Chaleekul, the entrepreneurial CEO of 'Seeker' - the company who have put together the Squad and structure to help Futera realise their project - commented, "We have a great group of players and superb coaching staff, all of whom have embraced this new way of managing the Team. For the fans, interacting with the players on the pitch will be an incredible experience!"

And for Futera? "We're really looking forward to the start of the Season and the experiences that running a professional Football Club will bring - both virtually and for real!"

Futera Seeker FC will kick off the new season in the Thai Football League's Opening Ceremony Game on Thursday 14th February.
