CF Jordan and Hunt Construction Awarded Contract for New AAA Baseball Stadium in El Paso

New AAA baseball stadium in El Paso being built by joint venture group of CF Jordan Jordan Construction and Hunt Construction Group.

El Paso, TX, January 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The City of El Paso has awarded the $40.2 million construction contract for a new downtown ballpark to the joint venture group of CF Jordan Construction and Hunt Construction Group. The baseball stadium, scheduled to be completed by April 2014, will be the new home for the San Diego Padres AAA affiliate, which was purchased by MountainStar Sports Group in October.

Populous architects are designing the ballpark to achieve LEED Silver Certification according to the standards established by the United States Green Building Council. The stadium will feature natural turf, more than 7,000 seats, and up to 30 luxury boxes and 500 club seats. In addition, the stadium will have media facilities, a team store, concession stands, team office space, and various other features.

CF Jordan, which is currently working on the University of Texas at El Paso Campus Transformation Project, pledges to use local subcontractors on the project.

“I’m very pleased with this selection,” said El Paso Mayor John Cook. “Hunt Construction is nationally recognized for doing ballparks, but they’ve also partnered with one of our strongest local contractors, CF Jordan, to put as many local contractors on the project as possible. You’ll see a lot of local people working on this.”
