Revolutionary Golf Aid Given USGA Approval Before Exhibiting at 2013 PGA Show

The Eagle Claw has been granted USGA approval this month adding another achievement to their 2013 PGA Show presentational exhibit.

Stone Mountain, GA, January 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Eagle Claw, a revolutionary swing support golf grip aid exhibiting at the 2013 PGA Show this month in Florida, will proudly display their most recent achievement: USGA approval under the section “Equipment Permitted Conditionally for Medical Reasons” which was granted earlier this month.

The Eagle Claw was conceived over 10 years ago when inventor Gerald Basden strained his thumb during a golf round. The usually debilitating ailment led to Gerald building a prototype that would enable him to continue to play golf whilst the injury healed without loss to time on the course or to his grip pressure and ball striking ability. Thus, the Eagle Claw was born. This one-of-a-kind concept was patented shortly thereafter followed by the beginning of mass production two years ago and was distributed into leading golf shops throughout 2012.

The Eagle Claw has a "power grip" mechanism in the device that locks and maintains the grip pressure throughout the swing culminating in the delivery of a square face to the ball for a straighter shot. The mechanism in the device, once locked in place, enables the golf club to become an extension of the arm itself. "There is nothing more disconcerting to a golfer than not being able to play golf," says the Inventor of the Eagle Claw, Gerald Basden. "Who wants their golfing abilities that they have spent countless hours perfecting thwarted by injury healing times, or their ‘golf brain’ challenged by unruly shot making and pain and discomfort associated with it? That is why I developed the Eagle Claw: to reduce these physical and psychological impacts on a golfer and to get them back on course sooner."

In 2012 the Eagle Claw achieved many milestones including the introduction of the "Thumb Splint" which improves the quality of the Eagle Claw’s fit on the hand; the "Thumb Cradle" which secures the golf club firmly in the Eagle Claw; and the "Hand Strap" which secures the Eagle Claw on the hand while featuring an additional means to securing the golf club in the golfer’s grip. The Eagle Claw was also approved for distribution through some of the nation’s largest retailers, and trialed within the "Wounded Warriors Project." "I was really impressed with my Eagle Claw grip enhancer. For my injuries I had a difficult time maintaining a good grip on my golf club. I frequently had a problem with the club slipping in my left hand at impact. With the Eagle Claw I was able to keep a positive grip pressure on the club during the entire swing," said Joseph Caley of the Wounded Warriors Project. "I even used it when I was selected to the Courage Cup Team and played in England against British Wounded Warriors. I shared it with my competitor Corie Mapp of the British Army and he liked the fact that it gave him positive control on the club. One area I found the Eagle Claw to really shine was chip shots around the green. I made perfect contact all the time!"

Currently, the Eagle Claw is available for both left and right handed golfers in size Medium, Large and X-Large. The year ahead proposes the launch of new line of sizes to fit all golfers; men, women and children. The Eagle Claw is available at these leading retailers online and across the nation; Golfsmith, Walmart, Wayfair, Sears, Amazon, DW Quail, Go Golf & Travel, and Hunter-Nusport and is reported to be moving into the international market shortly. More information can be found on The Eagle Claw website at www.the-eagle-claw-com and will be exhibiting at the upcoming Florida PGA Show this month at Booth 1813. See you there.
