Balfour Beatty Construction Promotes Two Internal Leaders

Dallas, TX, January 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Balfour Beatty Construction announces the promotion of two company leaders, both representing a significant step forward for the business in the areas of innovation, integration, and energy. Mark Konchar, an 18-year industry veteran, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Bevan Mace, a 15-year industry veteran, has been named Vice President.

As a senior leader within the company’s capability center team, Konchar will lead the development and implementation of best practices in acquisition, execution, and industry outreach. Working with project teams across the company’s national and global network, Konchar will facilitate a more deliberate, company-wide focus on value-based innovation and collaboration.

In his most recent role as Vice President of National Integration, Konchar was recognized both inside and outside the company as a leader in alternate procurement and innovative strategies. He will work closely with business leaders to streamline processes, reduce redundancy, and increase existing knowledge sharing to bring greater value differentiation to the company’s national client base. Konchar holds a PhD in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University, is a LEED AP professional and national board member of the Design Build Institute of America.

With the company since 2001, Bevan Mace’s role as Vice President of Energy builds on his extensive experience serving clients in both the public and private sector. In his new role, Mace will provide strategic analysis and execution support for projects with significant energy or high performance requirements, with a specific focus on lifecycle analysis and service differentiation.

Mace has been recognized for his extensive expertise in innovation, lean production, collaborative project delivery methods, and BIM. He will work with clients and project teams to use these practices to deliver higher performing buildings that integrate initial design and construction budgets with annual operating costs. He holds a PhD in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a LEED AP, BD+C professional.

“As we’ve seen over the past two years through lessons learned and projects won, leaders like Mark and Bevan are able to tap and leverage global expertise to bring greater value to our clients, partners, and employees,” said Eric Stenman, Chief of Enterprise Development at Balfour Beatty Construction.
