Apple iPad Revolutionizes Wine Tasting at Arizona’s Arrowhead Grill

Arrowhead Grill is using Apple iPads to revolutionize the world of wine tasting. The new technology allows wine-lovers to explore and delve into the world of wine and expertly paired foods any day of the week, at the West Valley’s best-known gourmet steakhouse, Arrowhead Grill.

Glendale, AZ, January 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Arrowhead Grill is using Apple iPads to revolutionize the world of wine tasting. The new technology allows wine-lovers to explore and delve into the world of wine and expertly paired foods any day of the week, at the West Valley’s best-known gourmet steakhouse, Arrowhead Grill.

Arrowhead Grill’s new Apple iPads, powered by Uncorkd, a program developed to act as private sommelier, guides wine enthusiasts on a journey through Arrowhead Grill’s wine cellar, naming each wine, its regional origin and type, and describing it’s history and flavor. Patrons can even order a glass or bottle from their seats.

Wine enthusiasts and novices can also explore wine and food pairings especially conceived at Arrowhead Grill to enhance the experience and fully reveal each wine’s flavor.

“This is a wonderful way to explore wine,” said Chef Charles Schwerd, owner of Arrowhead Grill. “Wine lovers can browse through the selections, choosing their favorite wines and finding new wines they’d love to try, based on region, type, vintner and reviews.”

According to Schwerd, the new Apple iPad-based wine menus are perfect for novices as well.

“Gone are the days when you’d walk into a restaurant with a date and wonder what wine to order with the meal,” said Schwerd. “With these, anyone coming to Arrowhead Grill can look like a wine aficionado.”

Arrowhead Grill’s interactive wine menus provide pairing suggestions for each of Arrowhead Grill’s most popular entrees. For example, the Delmonico steak comes with three suggestions, Northstar’s Merlot; Orin Swift’s “The Prisoner,” a red blend from the California vintner; and Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir from the Burgundy region of France. Twin Maine Lobster Tails are expertly paired with three Chardonnays: Chalk Hill Estate, Sequoia Grove and Far Niente.

“Wine lovers can also compose their own wine tasting right from their seats,” said Schwerd.

The new wine menus allow patrons to select a different, suggested wine for each course of the meal.

“It’s like having your own, private wine tasting,” said Schwerd, “and perhaps even better, since each person can choose each dish and wine to suite their own tastes.”

Arrowhead Grill currently boasts five new, interactive wine menus.
