Anaheim, CA, February 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- From January 28th through February 1st, St. Catherine’s Academy joins Catholic schools in Orange County to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Student musicians will participate in several concerts throughout the special week, including a guitar and band concert on Thursday, January 29, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm and a piano recital on Friday, February 1, beginning at 1:15 pm. All events will take place at Catholic school’s campus in Anaheim, California.

Music education at St. Catherine’s Academy is among the best of all Catholic schools in Orange County. Students have the option of participating in marching band, piano, or guitar lessons. About 50% of students participate in some sort of extracurricular music lessons, and the entire student body attends music class at least weekly. “Music options are very strong at St. Catherine’s, especially for a K-8 school. It’s a great foundation for young students,” say Mrs. Hynes.

Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration that focuses attention on the good work done by the nation’s Catholic schools. Catholic Schools Week is a joint project of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). This year’s national theme is Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.

St. Catherine’s Academy, founded in 1889 by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, is a Catholic school located in Orange County with a military tradition for boys in kindergarten through 8th grade. The school offers both day and boarding opportunities.
