A New Simple Sound Level Meter Meeting the Latest Standards from Cirrus Research plc

Cirrus Research plc introduce a new simple Sound Level Meter that is the ideal tool for basic noise level testing.

Hunmanby, United Kingdom, August 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The CR:306 is the ideal instrument for basic noise surveys and can be used for measurements such as vehicle noise checks, workplace spot checks, fire alarms and audible warning systems as well as the installation of sound systems.

There are also many applications where a Sound Level Meter can be useful but where a high specification instrument would be too costly. In these situations, the CR:306 becomes a simple low cost addition for service engineers.

The CR:306 is a new general purpose digital sound level meter which meets the full requirements of the new IEC 61672 standard to Class 2. The CR:306 allows noise levels to be checked quickly and simply, with the large display showing the Sound Level (SPL) with the standard dB(A) frequency weighting. dB(C) Frequency Weighting is also provided.

The instrument has two measurement ranges, and can measure from 35dB(A) to 130dB(A). The maximum hold function allows the unit to freeze the display showing the highest level measured. This can be used where the allowable level is given in terms of a maximum (LAFmax or LCFmax).

This new instrument is available as either an individual instrument or as a complete measurement kit. The CK:306 measurement kit includes the Sound Level Meter, a CR:514 Class 2 Acoustic Calibrator, a CP:65 Carrying Pouch, Windshield, User Manuals and Certificates of Calibration.

The CR:306 replaces the previous CR:303 as the entry level Sound Level Meter in the Cirrus Research plc product range.
