Detroit, MI, February 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Detroit Public Library will host, “An Evening with Bettye LaVette: A Woman Like Me,” an author presentation and book signing featuring Detroit soul singer and Grammy Awards nominee, Bettye LaVette! A Woman Like Me is an engrossing, riveting, ‘grown-folks’ autobiography, co-written with David Ritz, author of books on R&B legends Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. This event will be held at the Main Library on Thursday, February 21, 2013 starting at 6:00pm.

Released late 2012, Bettye LaVette's life story is nothing short of miraculous. "I've been wanting to tell this story for years," says LaVette. "But now I realize I had to live more of that life before it was time to write it down.”
