ACMA Automechanika New Delhi 2013 opens on a high note.

Mumbai, India, February 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The premier edition of ACMA Automechanika New Delhi, 2013, is the nation’s first ever trade exhibition specialised and dedicated to the auto component and aftermarket industry. Spread across 9,500 sqm gross exhibition space, the trade fair hosts 258 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions including five international pavilions of China, Germany, Taiwan, Italy and the United Kingdom. Opening on a promising note, the exhibition is expected to attract industry professionals from India and across the globe.

Eminent personalities from the industry graced the inauguration ceremony, which was officiated by Chief Guest Shri. Praful Patel, Minister for Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises, Government of India.

While addressing the audience during the Inaugural Ceremony, Shri. Praful Patel remarked, "A show like ACMA Automechanika New Delhi is very important for the entire automotive sector, which is equivalent to 22 percent of India’s manufacturing GDP. India today is home to all major manufacturers and produces high-quality components. India’s growing economy provides impetus for growth in this sector and is poised for stupendous growth. A show like this gives India a chance to showcase their progress in the industry.”

Commenting on the trade fair, Mr. Surinder Kanwar, President, ACMA, stated, "The automotive aftermarket in India is currently growing at a pace of 10 to 15 percent. Although the industry is growing, it is currently going through a rough stage.” Sharing pre-budget recommendations, Mr. Kanwar conveyed to the ministry about the reversal of high imports vis-a-vis increasing exports. He also emphasised the importance of keeping a check on counterfeiting, which is a major concern of the industry today.

Mr. Michael Johannes, Vice President, Brand Management Automechanika, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, called the event a "big moment." He said, "I strongly believe that this is a perfect platform; ACMA’s reach within the Indian auto component and aftermarket industries and Messe Frankfurt’s experience of organising international trade fairs makes this an ideal partnership.” He also underscored the influential role Mr Raj Manek, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd., in the realisation of ACMA Automechanika New Delhi.

Some of the key highlights of the exhibition were product launches by domestic and international exhibitors. For example:
· BASF launched a Glysantin range of automotive radiator coolant
· EUROLUB GmbH showcased their new EUROLUB Additive Program
· Aisin announced their new aftermarket operation in India
· PCL-SUMO launched the PCL-SUMO N2 Generator cum inflator in its new nitrogen inflator range
· Benara Udyog Ltd launched brake disc pads for L.C.V. cars and two/three wheelers

Additionally, both ACMA and Messe Frankfurt have taken a strong initiative to combat counterfeiting at domestic and international levels through their respective campaigns namely "ASLI-NAQLI" and "Messe Frankfurt Against Copying." Both campaigns are focussed on intellectual property rights and spread awareness about the benefits of using genuine auto components.
In his closing remarks at the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Stephan Buurma, Managing Director for Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd and Member of the Extended Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH expressed: “My sincerest regards go to the Chief Guest, as well as exhibitors and visitors present at the gathering for all their support in making the premier edition of ACMA Automechanika New Delhi a grand success.”
