Digia Improved Business Intelligence in the "Expert" and "Electronics" Retail Chains with the Aid of QlikView

Saint-Petersburg, Russia, February 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Digia RUS successfully completed the project of Digia Retail Analytics BI-solution implementation for RITEK, the owner of “Expert,” “Electronics” and “Euronics” retail chains in Novgorod region of Russia. Due to the project, the customer received a powerful and convenient tool, which allows improving the plan vs. actual analysis and increasing the turnover of each store.

Digia Retail Analytics is the industry Business Intelligence solution based on the QlikView platform, developed specifically for retailers by Digia. The solution is used in the RITEK head office and in all shops of “Expert” and “Electronics” retail chains located in the Novgorod region.

During the project, a single data warehouse was created and all the necessary reports were configured, which allows analyzing sales data and the estimating of the outturn of the sales plan on a daily basis. Digia Retail Analytics is used by more than fifty employees simultaneously, including top managers, marketers, analysts and the sales force in the stores. Thanks to the web access, all necessary information is available to all outlets at any time, which helps to facilitate access to the data and speed up decision making. Previously, analysts created sales reports by unloading data from the accounting system based on 1C and by handling them with the standard features of Microsoft Excel. After that, sales reports were sent to the managers of each store. Now, employees can independently see all data they need and make changes to their work quickly for performing the sales plans.

Besides the main analytical tool, Digia developed the additional application for iPad. RITEK top managers use it for tracking the key performance indicators of the chain (sales value, marginality, average check, number of checks per day, etc.) directly from their mobile devices. Convenient dashboards allow management both to see the KPIs, and access the detailed information up to the line of the check of the specific discount card. The usage of Google Maps allows for locating the necessary metrics directly on the region map.

The project of Digia Retail Analytics implementation lasted only two and a half of months. During this time, the pilot project was completed, the solution was deployed in the head office and in 36 “Expert” and "Electronics" stores, and the operational testing phase was passed. As a result, the managers can use this highly accurate analytical tool available anywhere in the world. The system automatically generates alerts about deviations from the sales plan and allows for adjustments by the shop operations without waiting for monthly reports from the head office. Thus, the company has gained access to the rich possibilities of operative central control and rapid decision-making with assured sales growth.
