Datamax-O’Neil Introduces the RL3 Portable Label Printer Designed to Optimize Productivity for Retail Operations

The RL3 offers important features to increase the efficiency and productivity of store operations with the reliability and durability to meet the maximum requirements for retail mobility printing.

Bourg-lès-Valence, France, February 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Datamax-O’Neil, a global provider of industrial grade label and receipt printing solutions, announces the RL3, a portable 3-inch label printer designed to meet the diverse applications required in the retail mobility environment. Combining reliability and resiliency with easy integration and intuitive design, the RL3 is the ultimate store operations productivity tool.

“We conducted extensive market research and determined that customers needed a 3-inch portable label printer that could operate for a full 8-hour shift and offer the durability to withstand the often rough-and-tumble environments mobile retail workers experience,” said Christian Bischoff, Regional General Manager EMEA at Datamax-O’Neil.

The printer’s dual wall construction and rubber bumpers, combined with its magnesium and stainless steel casing, offer maximum protection and have helped it achieve the MIL-STD 810 drop standard, which involves 26 consecutive drops at 6 feet to concrete. The RL3 is the only portable 3-inch label printer to offer a two-year warranty.

High user productivity is achieved by a long-lasting lithium battery providing full-shift printing capability, a large media capacity for uninterrupted operation and a well protected LCD screen and buttons that are easily visible and intuitive.

Wireless integration into 802.11 a/b/g infrastructures is assisted by Datamax-O’Neil’s NETira configuration and remote management software applications. In addition, the RL3 provides support for the latest wireless security functionality. To further ease integration requirements, the RL3 offers built-in ZPL, CPCL, IPL, XML and ExPrint emulation, and provides compatibility with enterprise and/or legacy ERP systems.

“The RL3 gives retail customers a reliable, rugged, and easy to use mobile printer that offers fast speeds to expedite the printing of labels for price changes, inter-company transfers, warehouse storage and mobile point-of-sale (POS),” Bischoff explained. “There is no other printer in the market that offers all the features of the RL3 and also meets the reliability and ruggedness that the retail environment increasingly demands.”

Orders for the RL3 can be taken by now.
